American Victorian Pennsylvania kitchen table with stretcher. Overhanging rectangular top with inset surface and molded front edge above a shallow, straight apron fitted to front with two wide shallow drawers. The drawers have brass scoop-type grips and are flanked by protruding square corners applied with renaissance-style fluted strapwork brackets with bosses. These are raised on massive tapered round legs, ring-turned with compressed bulbous sections and caster feet. Some fo the brasses have been replaced. One end of the table is squared where a shorter table could abut: the other end has rounded corners. (Murphy D. Smith, "Due Reverence," 1992).
