Pair of inlaid mahogany folding top gate-leg card tables, possibly of Philadelphia manufacture. Each has a rectangular folding top with inset ovolo corners, inlaid with double-stringed edges and a broad band border above a conformingly shaped apron, inlaid with plain string reserves and slender banded edge, raised on stringed tapering square legs with crossband cuffs. Abstract:  

Federal drop-leaf Pembroke table. Single-plank rectangular overhanging top hinged with rounded shallow drop-leaves which can be raised on hinged swing supports, flanking a frieze drawer with a turned wooden pull above a cockbeaded edge molding. The table is raised on tapered reeded round legs which terminate in compressed globous ankles with deep peg-feet and turned at top with deep collars. (Murphy D. Smith, "Due Reverence," 1992).

Abstract:  

Philadelphia Classical drop-leaf pedestal table. Rectangular overhanging top, hinged with boldly scalloped shallow drop-leaves which are raised on hinged swing-supports flanking a cockbeaded frieze drawer, with brass pull at each end above cockbeaded edge moldings and protruding corners suspended with stepped ring drops. These rest on an urn-form pedestal raised on molded sabre legs ending in brass paw-feet. (Murphy D. Smith, "Due Reverence," 1992).

Ammerican Chippendale-style secretary table. It has a plain overhanging rectangular top above a molded straight apron which is fitted at each end with a thumb molded drawer with brass pulls and keyholes.
