Emblematic painting of American Union. Figure of Hercules astride an arch with thirteen plaques representing the original 13 colonies from north to south. Hercules figure wears skirt of eagle feathers, lion head cap, lion skin and holds a club in left hand. Pennsylvania is at center of arch. Inscribed, lower left: "Marbois Invenit."
