His students include (among others): Alfred Kroeber, Robert Lowie, Melville Herskovits, Edward Sapir, Margaret Mead, Ruth Benedict, Alexander Goldenweiser, Paul Radin, M. F. Ashley Montagu, Frank Speck, and Elsie Clews Parsons.
