A number of Robert Alter's twenty-two books have been translated into several languages. As a critic in both of his fields, Hebrew Literature of all ages and Modernism, he emphasizes the virtures of close reading and broad sympathies over ideological commitment, though in his work with students he has shown a tolerance which has produced some of the leading lights in the postmodern camp. Dr. Alter is fluent in French and Hebrew and reads a number of other languages. He is an exemplary academic citizen: a thoughtful and engaged colleague, willing to take on administrative chores; a popular teacher and director of a host of dissertations; an immensely productive scholar; a good friend to many; and absolutely without a shred of the diva in him. He is internationally known, with strong connections in Britain, France, and Israel. Since 1967 he has served on the faculty of the University of California, Berkeley, where he is Class of 1937 Professor of Hebrew and Comparative Literature. His most recent book is a translation of the Hebrew Bible, entitled Ancient Israel. The Former Prophets: Joshua, Judges, Samuel, and Kings. A Translation with Commentary.

Teodolinda Barolini is one of the leading Dante scholars of our time, perhaps best known for her book The Undivine 'Comedy': Detheologizing Dante, which moves beyond Dante's own determination of the reader's experience to search for the poet's real narrative techniques. She was awarded the Howard R. Marraro Prize of the Modern Language Assosication and the John Nicholas Brown Prize of the Medieval Academy of America for her book Dante's Poets: Textuality and Truth in the 'Comedy'. She also has a wide range of interests in Medieval and Renaissance Italian literature, particularly poetry, and she is currently preparing a commentary to Dante's lyrics for the Biblioteca Universale Rizzoli. Teodolinda Barolini received her Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1978 and served as assistant professor at the University of California, Berkeley until 1983 when she moved to New York University. In 1992, she joined the faculty of Columbia University, where she is currently the Lorenzo Da Ponte Professor of Italian. From 1992-2004 she led Columbia's Italian Department as chair and director of graduate studies, while at the same time serving as president of the Dante Society of America from 1997-2003. In 1996 she received the Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching at Columbia. Dr. Barolini is a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and was elected a member of the American Philosophical Society in 2002.

A native of North Carolina, raised in New York, R. Howard Bloch attended Amherst College and Stanford University. He has taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo, University of California Berkeley, Columbia, and Yale University, where he is currently Sterling Professor of French and Chair of the Humanities Program. R. Howard Bloch has written numerous books and articles on medieval language and literature, law, family structure, economic and social history, visual culture, as well as on the history of medieval studies in the nineteenth century. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, an Officer in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, a recipient of the Lowell and the Scaglione Prizes of the Modern Language Association, and a medalist of the Collège de France.

Peter Brooks received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1965. That same year he joined the faculty of Yale University, where he is the Sterling Professor of Comparative Literature until June, 2009. During his tenure, he has been director of the literature major, chairman of the department of French, and founding director of the Whitney Humanities Center. He is one of the most distinguished literary scholars of his generation, a generation dominated by theoretical discovery and debate. Peter Brooks has achieved an original and highly influential syntheses of his own. His contribution to the study of narrative has been particularly notable because of the connections he has established between the narrative impulse and form and sexuality and between narrative and legal argument. Several of his works have become classics of criticism, and many of his ideas have become common currency among literary scholars. Dr. Brooks is also known to a wider audience through articles in magazines and The New York Times. He is the author of The Novel of Worldliness: Crébillon, Marivaux, Laclos, Stendhal (1969); The Melodramatic Imagination: Balzac, Henry James (1976, 1985, 1995); Reading for the Plot: Design and Intention in Narrative (1984, 1992); Body Work: Objects of Desire in Modern Narrative (1993); Psychoanalysis and Storytelling (1994); World Elsewhere (1999); Troubling Confessions: Speaking Guilt in Law and Literature (2000); and Henry James Goes to Paris (2007), which won the Christian Gauss Award from Phi Beta Kappa. He is the editor of (with A. Kernan, M. Holquist) Man and his Fictions: An Introduction to Fiction-Making, its Forms and Uses (1973); and (with A. Woloch) Whose Freud? The Place of Psychoanalysis in Contemporary Culture (2000). Dr. Brooks was elected a member of the American Philosophical Society in 2003. He was given the Mellon Foundation Distinguished Achievement Award in 2008 and began teaching at Princeton University.

Mary Carruthers-- biographical sketch I am a historian of the European Middle Ages, concerned especially with late classical and medieval ideas about human psychology, including rhetoric and meditation. My focus now is on Latin materials, but I began as a scholar of medieval English language and literature, interests that have never left me. Having been born and raised first in India and only later in North America, embedding myself in languages and cultures very different from those of the modern West feels natural to me. My scholarly approaches engage historical questions of linguistics and reasoning, as well as the material culture of the book. My work in Latin rhetoric began by examining its logical structures of remembering, some work which has brought me into fruitful contact with psychologists who are also interested in learning and memory, and with some interested in computer-enabled archival design. More recently, my work has concerned medieval aesthetic values and their rootedness, via theories of the bodily humours, in various medical as well as religious ideas. My current research is on the methods learned for Invention and composing, including the various logics implied in diagrams. This engages medieval ideas not only about human creativity and artistic design, but the fundamental concepts of harmony and geometry that were basic equally for Augustine and Quintilian and in medieval practices of meditation and visionary contemplation. They are also basic to medieval understanding of the cosmological physics of the Six Days described in the Genesis Creation myth.

Jonathan Culler is Class of 1916 Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Cornell University. He received his D. Phil. from St. John's College, Oxford University in 1972 and served on the faculties of Cambridge and Oxford Universities prior to joining the Cornell University faculty in 1977. Dr. Culler also directed Cornell's Society for Humanities for ten years and served as senior associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 2000-03. An expert on French literature, Jonathan Culler is the author of the classic Flaubert study The Uses of Uncertainty (1974). His most visible contribution, however, has been the interpretation to the English-speaking world of the French critical tradition of structuralism from de Saussure to Derrida. Where others have lost themselves, and their readers, in a thicket of obfuscations and misunderstood concepts, Dr. Culler has maintained an exemplary clarity. His writing has the limpid elegance of a Mozart piano sonata. He has probably done more than anyone else in the United States to keep comparative literature and literary criticism both accessible to new ideas and readable to wider audiences. Jonathan Culler lives and works in France, England, and the United States. His other published works include Structuralist Poetics: Structuralism, Linguistics, and the Study of Literature (1975); Ferdinand de Saussure (1976); The Pursuit of Signs: Semiotics, Literature, Deconstruction; (1981); On Deconstruction: Theory and Criticism after Structuralism (1982); Roland Barthes (1983); Framing the Sign: Criticism and Its Institutions (1988); Literary Theory: A Very Short Introduction (1997); and The Literary in Theory (2007). Cornell University Press issued the 25th anniversary edition of On Deconstruction in 2008. Dr. Culler is the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship (1966-69) and the James Russell Lowell Prize of the Modern Language Association of America (1975). He was appointed as a member of the board of directors of the New York State Council for the Humanities in 2007. He was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2001, the American Philosophical Society in 2006, and the British Academy in 2020.

Kathy Eden, Chavkin Family Professor of English and Professor of Classics at Columbia University, studies the history of rhetoric, Renaissance humanism, and the way the rediscovery of ancient Greek and Roman works of literature and literary theory impacted the reading and writing practices of early modern Europe from the fourteenth through the sixteenth centuries. Her research has been supported by a number of foundations and institutions, including the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington D.C., the Guggenheim Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and All Souls, University of Oxford. In addition to publishing articles on texts as wide-ranging as Aristotle’s Poetics, Augustine’s On Christian Doctrine, Erasmus’ De copia, and Shakespeare’s King Lear, she is the author of a number of books, including Poetic and Legal Fiction in the Aristotelian Tradition (1986), Hermeneutics and the Rhetorical Tradition: Chapters in the Ancient Legacy and Its Humanist Reception (1997), Friends Hold All Things in Common: Tradition, Intellectual Property and the “Adages” of Erasmus (2001), winner of the Roland H. Bainton Prize for Literature, and The Renaissance Rediscovery of Intimacy (2012). Between 2008 and 2012 she served as editor of the Erasmus of Rotterdam Society Yearbook. At Columbia, where Eden also served as chair of the program of Literature Humanities, she has won several teaching awards, including the Mark Van Doren Award, the Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching, and the Great Teachers’ Award from the Society of Columbia Graduates. Eden received her B.A. from Smith College and her Ph.D. from Stanford University.

Ronald Egan is Confucius Institute Professor of Sinology in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. in Chinese literature from Harvard University, writing a dissertation on the early historical work Zuo zhuan under the direction of James Robert Hightower. His research focuses on Chinese literature, aesthetics, and cultural history of the Tang-Song period. His publications include books on the literary works and lives of Ouyang Xiu and Su Shi, the latter entitled Word, Image, and Deed in the Life of Su Shi. He has also published a general study of innovations in Song dynasty aesthetic thought, entitled The Problem of Beauty: Aesthetic Thought and Pursuits in Northern Song Dynasty China, now available in a Chinese edition from Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing Company. He is also the translator of selected essays from Qian Zhongshu’s Guanzui biani, which appeared as Limited Views: Essays on Ideas and Letters by Qian Zhongshu. A recent study concerns the works and reception history of the great woman poet of the twelfth century, Li Qingzhao, entitled The Burden of Female Talent: The Poet Li Qingzhao and Her History in China (Harvard University Press, 2013), also now available in a Chinese edition from Shanghai Ancient Books. Subsequently, he published a complete new translation of Li Qingzhao writings, available in a bilingual edition in the Library of Chinese Translations series (De Gruyter, 2019). He previously taught at the Harvard University, Wellesley College, the University of California at Santa Barbara, and UCLA. At UC Santa Barbara, where he taught for twenty-five years, he was the founding chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultural Studies. He formerly served as Executive Editor of the Harvard Journal of Asiatic Studies and as President of the American Oriental Society.

Caryl Emerson received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980. She was assistant and associate professor of Russian literature at Cornell University from 1980-87. In 1988 she became the A. Watson Armour III University Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures at Princeton University, a position she currently holds. Caryl Emerson is widely regarded within the academic profession as the pre-eminent Slavist of her generation. She has also won a large readership outside the university as a prolific contributor to the popular press, reviewing many books for the New Republic, Opera News, New York Times Book Review, etc., and contributing program essays on Russian opera to Stagebill. Her public-spiritedness comes through in her list of conference appearances (ca. 10 a year) on Bakhtin, and she is chiefly responsible for his current vogue. In addition to the books listed below, she has published 70 articles. In 1997 she received the Howard T. Behrman Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Humanities. Dr. Emerson is the author of The Life of Musorgsky (1999); The First Hundred Years of Mikhail Bakhtin (1997); (with R.W. Julia Haig Gaisser is a scholar of international distinction, a leader in the interpretation of the Classics and Roman Humanism. From her early Homeric studies, she has turned her attention to Roman poetry of the late Republic and the Empire, particularly Catullus, and the works of Apuleius, and has carried these interests into the Renaissance, with acclaimed studies of the reception of Catullus in the Renaissance and of the world of the Humanist, Piero Valeriano. Her work is characterized by depth of insight and rigorous analysis, and also by notable grace of style. She has contributed significantly to the welfare of the organizations on which the vitality of classical studies depends - as president of the American Philological Association, chairman of the Managing Committee of the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, editor of the Bryn Mawr Latin Commentaries, and spokesperson for humanistic concerns in many contexts. In addition to her many publications, she has lectured widely in this country and abroad, has excelled in teaching undergraduates and graduate students, and by her work for the Marshall Scholarships and the American Academy in Rome she has strengthened the bonds between American and European scholars. Dr. Gaisser's recent projects include her Martin Classical Lectures at Oberlin (The Fortunes of Apuleius) as well as Oxford Readings in Catullus and a translation of the dialogues of Giovanni Pontano for the I Tatti Renaissance Library. Richard Janko is the current Else Collegiate Professor of Classical Studies and former Chair of the Department of Classical Studies at the University of Michigan, having previously taught at Columbia University and University College, London. He has added new insights and dimensions to our understanding of structure and chronology of archaic Greek literature though his pioneering work in applying computer techniques and through his superb and wide-ranging knowledge of Greek language and culture. Martin Kern is the inaugural Greg (’84) and Joanna (P13) Zeluck Professor in Asian Studies at Princeton University. Born and educated in Germany, he received his Dr. Phil. In Sinology, German Literature, and Art History from Cologne University in 1996. He taught at the University of Washington and Columbia University before moving to Princeton in 2000. He held fellowships from the Institute for Advanced Studies (2002-03), the American Council of Learned Societies (2006-07), the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation (2006-07), and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (2010-11) and was appointed Astor Visiting Lecturer and Fellow Commoner of The Queen’s College, Oxford University (2013), the inaugural Annual M.I. Rostovtzeff Lecturer, Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, New York University (2010), and Distinguished Professor at the Research Center for Comparative Literature and World Literature, Shanghai Normal University (2014-16). He was awarded a 2018 Guggenheim Fellowship. Among other functions in Europe, China, and the United States, Kern is co-editor of the pre-eminent sinological journal T’oung Pao (since 2010); founding managing editor of Studies in the History of Chinese Texts (2006); co-editor of Handbook of Oriental Studies, academic board member of the International Center for Studies of Chinese Civilization, Fudan University (Shanghai; 2012); and Executive Council member at the Annual World Conference on Sinology, Renmin University (Beijing; 2014). Kern’s research cuts broadly across the fields of literature, philology, history, religion, and art in ancient and medieval China, with a dual focus on poetry and the formation of ancient Chinese textuality and cultural memory. The author and editor of nine books and some eighty book chapters and articles (as of 2015), he studies the composition, reception, and canonization of early Chinese texts, including through the analysis of recently excavated manuscripts and from comparative perspectives. He publishes on a wide range of topics, including the history of Chinese literature; the performance of texts in political and religious ritual; authorship as a historical and theoretical problem; issues of writing and orality; the early development of Chinese literary thought; style and rhetoric in philosophy and historiography; the rise of Chinese political philosophy; calligraphy; and the history and current issues of Sinology as a global field.

Ludwig Koenen has taught at the University of Michigan since 1975. As Herbert C. Youtie Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Papyrology, he is regarded as one of the world's most renowned papyrologists. His research has centered primarily on the religious history of the Roman Empire, especially the period in which Orthodox Christianity became established as a state religion. He has served as chair of the university's Department of Classical Studies and has overseen the organization, cataloguing and preparation for publication of its papyri collection, the largest in the Western Hemisphere. Dr. Koenen received his Ph.D. from the University of Cologne in 1957 and taught there from that time until his tenure at Michigan. He has been elected a fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and, since 1975, has been a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute. He has also served as president of the American Philological Association.

One of the world's leading scholars of medieval Chinese (ca. 200-1000 CE) literature, Paul W. Kroll took his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in 1976. After three years at the University of Virginia, he moved to the University of Colorado where he became the founding Chair of the university's Department of Oriental Languages and Literatures (now Asian Languages and Civilizations), serving in that position from 1982 to 1995. During that time he also designed and instituted the department's graduate program in Chinese. He is the author of over seventy articles, as well as the author or editor of eight books, the most significant of which is A Student's Dictionary of Classical and Medieval Chinese (Brill, 2014; revised edition 2017). This is the first Chinese-English dictionary devoted specifically to the premodern Chinese written language, up to roughly 1000 CE. It has become a standard and indispensable resource for students and scholars alike. Among its special features are the inclusion of the Middle Chinese reconstructed pronunciation of every word, definitions of a multitude of technical terms in various fields (bureaucracy, astronomy, sericulture, Buddhism and Daoism, etc.), accurate identifications of hundreds of plants and animals, and explanations of hundreds of Gestalt binomes (Ch. lianmianci) which figure prominently in literary texts, especially in poetry. His scholarly publications have mainly focused on facets of the literature, religion, and cultural history of the Nanbeichao (early medieval) and Tang (late medieval) eras, with a special fondness for the poets of the seventh and eighth centuries. Broadly learned in Western literatures and languages from classical times through the modern period, in addition to East Asian traditions, his sinological studies have an unusual depth of comparative reference. Besides his own research, he has spent forty years as an editor of various scholarly journals, helping to define the field and shape the presentation of Western studies on premodern China, including as: associate editor of the Journal of Chinese Religions (1979-1982); editor of Tang Studies (1984-2006), which he transformed from a simple newsletter into the leading specialist journal on Tang China; East Asia editor of the venerable Journal of the American Oriental Society (1984-2000) and then Editor-in-Chief of that journal and of the society's monograph series (2000-2010), during which he also presided over a complete redesign of the journal; one of three co-editors of T'oung Pao (2009-17), the oldest and leading European journal of sinology, for which he was the first American-born editor in its 100-plus-year history; and since 2015 one of four editors of Brill's Handbuch der Orientalistik series. Among other activities he is the American Oriental Society's delegate to the American Council of Learned Societies and the ACLS's delegate to the Union Académique Internationale. Leslie Kurke is a specialist in ancient Greek literature and culture, with special emphasis on archaic Greek poetry in its socio-political context, Herodotus and early prose, and the constitution of ideology through material practices. She received her BA in Greek Literature from Bryn Mawr College (1981), and her MA and PhD in Classics from Princeton University (1984, 1988). I was born August 17, 1937 in Manchester, England, where my parents were secondary school teachers. As a high-school student, I was introduced to Plato by my school's charismatic principal. That experience was the primary reason I decided to study Classics as an undergraduate. After two years of military service I entered University College London where I had the good fortune to be taught by some of Britains's most outstanding scholars of Greek and Latin. I graduated BA in 1960, and was immediately appointed Lecturer in Classics, specializing in ancient philosophy, at the University of Otago, NZ. While teaching at Otago, I completed a PhD for the University of London with a dissertation on abstract nouns in Sophocles. This was the basis for my first book, Language and Thought in Sophocles (1968). In 1964 I left Otago in order to return permanently to Britain, where I held appointments, first at the University of Nottingham, then at University College London, and finally as Gladstone Professor of Greek at the University of Liverpool (1973-83). During these years I made several visits to the USA, most significantly in 1978-9, when I held fellowships consecutively at Princeton University and the Institute for Advanced Study. Princeton gave me my first experience of teaching graduate seminars, which I found so rewarding that I decided I would move permanently to the USA if I were offered a suitable position. That opportunity soon emerged at the University of California at Berkeley, where I have been Professor of Classics since 1983 and Irving Stone Professor of Literature since 1991, with occasional absences as visiting professor or fellowship holder in Germany, France, and Holland. Although my first book was on Sophocles, my first article (1963) was a study of Parmenides, and it is ancient philosophy that has been the primary focus of my research. That has always included the early Greek philosophers on whom I edited a volume in the Cambridge Companion series (1999), but in 1967 I began a series of studies of the Hellenistic philosophers, especially Stoics, and these thinkers have remained the principal focus of my research ever since. When I began this work, Hellenistic philosophy was very much a minority pursuit, but it has now definitely become main stream. My first attempt to publicize it was a general study, Hellenistic Philosophy. Stoics, Sceptics, Epicureans (first edition 1974), which has been translated into seven languages. In collaboration with David Sedley (Lawrence Professor of Ancient Philosophy at the University of Cambridge), Cambridge University Press commissioned me to publish a two-volume source book of the principal texts of the Hellenistic Philosophers with philosophical commentary (1987). This work has been translated into French and German. Since then, I have continued to work on many Hellenistic philosophical topics and Roman thinkers, including Cicero, Seneca and Epictetus on whom I published Epictetus. A Stoic and Socratic Guide to Life (2002). At the same time, I have been working extensively on ancient models of mind and selfhood, with reference to all periods of ancient philosophy, and also on conceptual connexions between theology and rationality. I hope in due course to complete two further books on these topics.

Victor H. Mair, Professor of Chinese Language and Literature in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations, received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1976. He also holds an M.Phil. degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London). He has been teaching at the University of Pennsylvania since 1979. Professor Mair specializes in Buddhist popular literature as well as the vernacular tradition of Chinese fiction and the performing arts. Among his chief works in these fields are Tun-huang Popular Narratives (1983), Painting and Performance: Chinese Picture Recitation and Its Indian Genesis (1988), and T'ang Transformation Texts: A Study of the Buddhist Contribution to the Rise of Vernacular Fiction and Drama in China (1989). He is also the author, editor, or translator of numerous other books and articles on Chinese language, literature, and culture. Throughout the 1990s, Professor Mair organized an interdisciplinary research project on the Bronze Age and Iron Age mummies of Eastern Central Asia. Among other results of his efforts during this period were three documentaries for television (Scientific American, NOVA, and Discovery channel), a major international conference, numerous articles, and The Tarim Mummies: Ancient China and the Mystery of the Earliest Peoples from the West (2000, with J.P. Mallory). Professor Mair is the founder and editor of Sino-Platonic Papers, General Editor of the ABC Chinese Dictionary Series at the University of Hawaii Press, and series editor for Encounters with Asia at the University of Pennsylvania Press. He has been a fellow or visiting professor at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (2004, 2008), the University of Hong Kong (2002-2003), the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton, 1998-1999), the Institute for Research in Humanities (Kyoto University, 1995), Duke University (1993-1994), and the National Humanities Center (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, 1991-1992).

Mary Miller became Director of the Getty Research Institute on January 1, 2019. She was Sterling Professor of History of Art at Yale and served as Dean of Yale College from 2008-2014. Mary Miller has held many administrative posts at Yale and served as Dean of Yale College 2008-2014. From 2016-18, she was Senior Director of the Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage on Yale’s West Campus. In that capacity, she advanced the sustainable care, study, and use of the world’s cultural heritage through multidisciplinary research, innovation in technology and conservation practice, education, and advocacy. Professor Miller is a specialist of the art of the ancient New World and has been recognized for both her scholarly contributions and her curatorial expertise. She curated The Courtly Art of the Ancient Maya at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco in 2004 and co-curated landmark exhibition The Blood of Kings with Linda Schele at the Kimbell Art Museum in 1986. For both exhibitions, she co-wrote the catalogues of the same title, the former with Simon Martin, and the latter with Linda Schele. Among her many books are The Murals of Bonampak, The Art of Mesoamerica (now entering its 6th edition), Maya Art and Architecture (with Megan O’Neil), The Gods and Symbols of Ancient Mexico and the Maya (with Karl Taube), and A Pre-Columbian World (co-edited with Jeffrey Quilter). With Barbara Mundy, Miller edited Painting a Map of Mexico City, a study of the rare indigenous map in the Beinecke Library (2012); and with Claudia Brittenham, she wrote The Spectacle of the Late Maya Court: Reflections on the Murals of Bonampak (2013). For her work on ancient Mexico and the Maya, Miller has won national recognition including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Getty Grant. She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1994. She delivered the Fifty-ninth A W Mellon lectures at the National Gallery of Art in 2010 and the Slade Lectures at Cambridge University in 2015. A national Phi Beta Kappa lecturer in 2016-17, she will be OCAT lecturer in Beijing later in 2021.

Franco Moretti, the current Danily & Laura Louise Bell Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Stanford University founded the Center for the Study of the Novel at Stanford, a center that has been energetic, lively and imaginative in its promotion of critical discussion of the novel. He has written many culturally significant books, including: Signs Taken for Wonders, 1983; The Way of the World: The Bildungsroman in European Culture, 1987; Modern Epic: The World-System from Goethe to García Márquez, 1995; An Atlas of the European Novel, 1998; Graphs, Maps, Trees: Abstract Models for a Literary History, 2005. He was inducted into the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2006.
