	Abstract:	Sometime in the 19th Century, Stephen Du Ponceau translated Ferdinando Galiani's famous tract on the laws of neutrality. These two bound volumes of Galiani's work appear to be in Du Ponceau's hand and bound within the text are long and detailed notes on the work. Du Ponceau's interest likely had to do with his legal career that dealt with issues of international trade, a focus that is a prominent part of Du Ponceau's papers at the APS. 	Abstract:	This bound volume contains an essay Jacob Frederico Torlade Pereira de Azambuja presented to the American Philosophical Society in 1833. Jacob Azambuja was the Portuguese charge d' affaires in the United States from 1829-1834. The essay describes the monetary history and system of Portugal. Presented after Andrew Jackson's election, banking and currency were important political topics at the time. This essay likely reflects the growing interest APS members had in the subject and in understanding alternative systems to the United States. The essay can offer insight into prevalent European ideas about currency and may offer insight into how these ideas may have influenced how Americans thought about reforming their system. 	Abstract:	The Thomas Paine Collection is a very rich and diverse collection. Much of the early material is from Paine to others. The later material contains significant documents that Richard Gimbel Collected from the early national period (after 1800) that do not involve Paine but may be of interest to researchers of that period. Included in the documents are notes on Common Sense, letters on courtship and love, the American Revolution, and letters relating to his time in France after the Revolution.
