Nearly all of the materials are copies of published sources, from the 18th to 20th century, with Stevens' notes on them. The collection is organized according to the topics by which Stevens kept his copies and notes, covering a very broad range of subject matter.

Native American Images note : 642 black and white photocopies, with a few black and white silver gelatin photographs, negatives, and newspaper clippings of images of Shawnee chiefs and settlements copied from 1980-1982. Collected by Stevens for historical research, the images are from various archival source materials and published works. Of interest, photocopies of photographs by Jim Lynch of a 1936 Shawnee settlement in Sperry, Oklahoma. Many portraits of Tecumseh, Tenskwatawa, Black Hoof, and Cornstalk.
