Abstract

This film includes the account of Luigi Castiglioni's travels in America from 1785-1787, which he published as "Viaggio negli Stati Uniti dell'America Settentrionale...1785, 1786 e 1787" (1790). Also included is the account of his travels in England and France, 1784-1785.

Background note

Italian botantist Luigi Castiglioni traveled extensively throughout Europe and America; he wrote about his travels as well as botany.
