Background note

Timothy Matlack was a revolutionary soldier and Pennsylvania state official. He was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 1780.

This bound volume contains some financial records of the Flying Camp (a militia unit that fought in the American Revolution) for the year 1783 and Timothy Matlack's personal accounts for the years 1785-1800. These records are scattered and not complete. Indeed, much of the volume is blank.
