This series contains Ho-Chunk stories, histories, and other language material from 1908 to circa 1920s. It includes approximately 4000 pages written in syllabic scripts, 3000 pages in phonetic script, and small amount in Roman script. Approximately two-thirds of the Ho-Chunk language material also includes interlinear translation in English. An additional 2000 pages contain running translations in English. A significant portion of this material is unpublished. Restrictions on Access: Some material in this series is potentially culturally sensitive and cannot be reproduced (including by Reading Room photography) until it's sensitivity status is officially determined. Processing information: A full inventory of this series is currently being assembled. In the meantime, reference staff can assist with questions regarding the contents on these materials. |
