Miscellaneous materials, mostly 1778-1791, of Timothy Pickering, Henry Knox, William Hardenburgh, John Taylor and others. Includes 94 pages, account of meeting with the Indians at Fort Stanwix, New York, June 1, 1790, and 47 pages of miscellaneous material.

These concern James Glen, Governor of South Carolina from 1743 to 1756, and John Forbes, Colonel and later Brigadier General in the British Forces stationed in North America. There are references to South Carolina politics and government, Indian policy, and the French and Indian War.

These papers include 140 pages of letters, council minutes of Indian conferences, petitions, and speeches, concerning the activities of the New York Assembly and the Six Nations, principally for 1745-1747. Also contains a 200-page addendum of papers of the Van Shack family, pertaining to the same subjects. Table of contents included.
