Abstract:
The type was collected "near the rapids" on 10 Apr 1806. The plant may have been collected along the Columbia River below the Cascades in Skamania Co., Washington, as Lewis walked along that portion of the shore, or on Bradford (then "Bryant") Island, Multnomah Co., Oregon, where Lewis gathered Fritillaria affinis (see Moulton 1991: 101-104).
