Abstract:  

Cutright (1969: 406) misidentifies the specimen as Claytonia linearis Douglas ex Hook. (Fl. Boreali-Amer. 1: 224. 1834). The species is also known as Montia linearis (Douglas ex Hook.) Greene (Fl. Francisc.: 181. 1891). The specimen was apparently collected on 27 Jun 1806 near Hungery Creek along the Lolo Trail in Idaho Co., Idaho (Moulton, 1993: 55-59).
