Abstract:

Pursh (1813: 85) and Meehan (1898: 45) report the sheet under Koeleria cristata Pers. (Syn. Pl. 1: 97. 1805), an illegitimate name in common use until recently. The grass was collected on 27 May 1806 near Kamiah in Idaho Co., Idaho, contrary to Pursh's statement: "plains of the Columbia river." Neither Lewis nor Clark mentions the plant (Moulton, 1991: 290-297).
