Meehan (1898: 36) raises some doubts as to the identification of the specimen. We concur with Robinson and Greenman, and find no cause to alter their determination as Vaccinium myrtillus. Lewis gathered the specimen at Fort Clatsop, Clatsop Co., Oregon, on 20 Jan 1806 (Moulton, 1990: 223-225) when he collected several other species.
